今年開幕的大巨蛋球場，終於迎來了中職賽季的最後一場例行賽。味全龍隊派出王維中先發主投，富邦悍將推出洋投藍力掛帥。
王維中在一局上解決兩名打者後，發生連續三次保送形成滿壘的危機，但所幸最後讓陳真擊出滾地球出局守住不失分。到了第四局被首名打者申皓瑋擊出二壘安打後，又連續投出兩次四壞球造成滿壘無人出局的大危機。但龍王又演出高飛犧牲打和兩次三振的精彩表現，再次守下局數。最後王維中完投五局，共用81球，投出六次四壞球，被擊出三支安打同時也有兩次三振，演出無責失分的表現收場。
藍力的表現同樣不俗，完投六局耗了97顆球，一共被擊出六支安打，但也投出七次三振。僅在第三局被王順和率先擊出三壘安打，以及李凱威的高飛犧牲打失掉一分，在 0:1 的落後狀態下退場休息。
比賽變數出現在七局上。替補上場的張進德和李宗賢分別擊出安打攻佔一二壘，「部長」張育成就在關鍵的兩出局後，從陳禹勳手中掃出三壘安打，一舉將比數超前成 2:1。
而龍隊則在七局下還以顏色，同樣由第九棒的王順和在二出局後，靠著安打和投手暴投站上二壘。近況甚佳的李凱威則在一番纏鬥之後擊出二壘安打將比數追平。
但兩隊至此再度陷入僵局。直到延長賽的第十一局下半，近期打擊熄火的味全兩門重砲，由吉力吉撈先擊出強勁的游擊方向滾地安打攻佔一三壘。接著紅色大砲劉基鴻就在最後補上一發打向外野的穿越安打，送回三壘的致勝分，也結束了這場在大巨蛋精彩的拉鋸戰。
同日由於中信兄弟在洲際球場拿下下半季冠軍，味全龍隊也正式確定退出季後賽的資格。但下週還有四場補賽需要完成，龍隊在這之後就即將結束今年全部的賽程。
