已經取得季後賽門票的統一獅，以及仍有最後一線希望的味全龍隊，賽季尾聲在天母進行二連戰。雙方都展現贏球的企圖心，獅隊派出今年表現亮眼的勝騎士先發主投，龍隊則推出在下半季表現越來越穩定的鋼龍上陣。
在前兩局兩位洋投都投出了絕佳的壓制力，僅讓對手擊出一支安打和一次保送。但到了第三局下半，味全的新秀張祐嘉率先擊出三壘安打，接著勝騎士又對王順和投出四壞球保送。接下來雖然順利解決李凱威和林孝程，但面對郭嚴文卻在兩好球之後被擊出直飛右外野牆外的三分全壘打。今年對勝騎士頗為苦手的味全龍隊一口氣取得三分領先的優勢。
鋼龍到了四五兩局，控球開始出現狀況。在第四局被擊出一支安打並投出兩次保送，造成滿壘之後由於陳聖平的界外飛球接殺化解危機。但統一獅到第五局則靠著陳重羽的安打，以及林佳緯一棒掃出右外野的全壘打，將比數追到 3:2 僅落後一分的局面。
到了六局下，吉力吉撈和蔣少宏的連續安打攻佔一三壘。今年曾經有過一支全壘打的張政禹，再度在關鍵時刻轟出直飛右外野的三分砲，一口氣將比數擴大到 6:2，讓原本激起反攻氣勢的獅隊陷入被動局面。
而在領先四分的情況下，龍隊為了保住勝利，再度派出他們的雙保險「歐冠組合」，由鋭歐抗下七八兩局，再由陳冠偉收下最後一局。終場味全龍隊就以 6:2 拿下本場勝利，在爭取季後賽門票的路上持續保有一線機會。
