今天首度在正式例行賽作客天母球場的台鋼雄鷹，扛著六連敗的壓力尋求一勝；而賽前也遭逢三連敗的味全龍，則希望在主場三連戰能拿下開門紅。
台鋼今天推出的先發投手，是去年由統一轉籍，今年首度先發登板的施子謙。在一局下首先面對李凱威擊出的滾地球，就和捕手撞在一起造成打者上壘。緊接著李凱威盜上二壘之後，再由劉基鴻擊出三壘方向強勁安打送回一分。而這也是味全龍全場唯一獲得的分數。
接下來的二三四五局，施子謙僅投出一顆觸身球，讓對手擊出兩支零星安打，並送出兩次三振之後退場。
而味全的先發投手艾璞樂表現也不差，完投六局僅在三局上出現狀況。在杜家明和曾子祐連續安打上壘後，四壞球保送了王柏融造成滿壘。雖然順利解決魔鷹，但卻遭到張肇元的安打突襲，送回逆轉領先的兩分。儘管四五六局僅被魔鷹擊出一支一壘安打，但仍苦等不到隊友火力支援而在六局結束後退場。
台鋼在接下來面對味全林子昱和張景淯兩位後援投手，都能順利掌握對手控球不穩的機會順利得分。葉保弟、曾子祐在七局上串連安打拿下一分。九局上更靠著張景淯連續的觸身球和暴投，加上王柏融的強勁內野安打，再下兩分。終場台鋼就以 5:1 拿下勝利，也中止了六連敗的低潮。
反觀味全龍雖然有堅強的投手群，但牛棚投手偶爾出現的控球不穩仍然是比賽後段的變數。但是開賽以來貧打，尤其是得點圈打擊率低落的問題，在這場比賽中仍然不見改善，最終也使得味全在主場三連戰的首戰，吞下了四連敗的苦果。
