味全和統一在本年度首度交手，客隊統一派出從富邦轉隊的郭俊麟，主隊味全則同樣派出由富邦過來的洋投艾璞樂掛帥先發。兩隊的先發投手都是富邦出身，也為比賽增添一些趣味話題。
一局下龍隊靠著第一棒郭天信保送，第二棒李凱威安打攻佔一二壘。劉基鴻擊出游擊方向原本可造成雙殺的滾地球，但二壘手黃勇傳傳球失誤，反倒讓郭天信趁機跑回本壘拿下第一分。
接下來兩隊互有攻防，但均未能突破對方守備。直到五局上陳重廷擊出三壘滾地球，但劉基鴻同樣發生傳一壘失誤，讓陳重廷攻佔二壘。緊接著黃勇傳滾地球，將陳重廷送上三壘；柯育民斷棒滾地球，劉基鴻選擇傳本壘不及，陳重廷回本壘得分。接著何恆佑由從艾璞樂手中擊出二壘安打送回柯育民，統一此時反以2:1超前味全。
到了六局上，艾璞樂解決了陳傑憲和林安可兩位中心棒次後，下一棒陳重廷擊出一發陽春全壘打，再將比數擴大到3:1。這一棒也將艾璞樂打退場，無法完成六局的投球。
而統一在六局下換上姚杰宏，在蔣少宏擊出二壘安打後，陳品捷擊出右外野深遠飛球，將蔣送上三壘。此時味全換上陳思仲接替鄭鎧文的打擊，擊出二遊方向穿越安打，將比數追到3:2。
七局開始，兩隊陸續換上中繼投手，同樣是互有攻防，但兩隊都欠缺關鍵安打出現，未能再添加分數。最後兩隊同樣派出守護神陳冠偉和陳韻文把關，終場就將比數鎖在3:2，由統一獅隊拿下今年對陣的首場勝利。
值得一提的是，這場比賽也是味全龍隊今年開賽五場比賽以來，第五場一分差的比數。如何提高關鍵打席時的得分效率，相信是龍隊教練團和選手們近期要著重討論的課題。
