中職早期的「四大天王」時代，陳義信、黃平洋、謝長亨、涂鴻欽這四大巨頭，各有獨特魅力，實力與人氣兼具，在中職草創初期，可說是票房保證。今天就來聊聊大叔們心中最強的天王是誰？
攻城大叔觀點：
我覺得是假日飛刀手-臭屁陳陳義信。講到中職本土的強投，我第一個還是想到他。單純看數據兩聯盟合計141勝，生涯防禦率壓在3.00上下，完投110場，完封18場；看現場的球技上，控球好、用球精準、完投、完封能力強，帶點挑釁、臭屁的樣子，就完完全全是我心目中，強投甚至巨投的形象。有點像Roger Clemens、 Pedro Martinez、Justin Verlander、Zack Greinke、巴比諾…這種類型的強投。個性上的話，帶點叛逆，敢挑戰機制、挑戰老闆，與女明星搞一些小曖昧的互動，這在當時台灣相對保守的社會氛圍下，確實是為台灣的棒球帶來一些衝擊，跟一些相對爭議性的話題。雖然說後來他也是集體跳槽那魯灣台灣大聯盟的第一批人，我那時候很看不慣、看不過去、也覺得他們這群人是叛徒。但是綜觀各國職業運動的演進跟演化，仔細想一想，當初中華職棒對於球員的薪資、福利甚至是整個文化跟管理制度，以及勞資雙方的地位跟互動，確實是有很多可討論的空間。希望這些衝擊也能讓中華職棒或是整個台灣棒球環境更健全，大概是這樣吧。
斯文大叔觀點：
身為龍迷，我當然是選黃平洋啦。金臂人-黃平洋，堪比上帝的右手。巔峰期就在職棒的前四年，先發場次完投率超過一半。讓我想起與Sandy Koufax的相似之處，就是在巔峰的27~30歲那四年之後，就受大傷而退休。他們就好像是跟上帝借了右手或是左手給他們，然後「用完囉，好，還我」，就此就慢慢消失在投手丘上了。我最難忘他在總冠軍賽的表現：總冠軍賽當中對戰統一獅隊，近年來比較拼的安排是王牌投手1/4/7戰先發，但黃平洋是1/4/6。第一戰九局完投勝，第四戰十四局完投敗，第六戰九局完投完封勝，最後第七戰後援三局但被爆了。當時我人在現場，哭著回家，天空還下著雨。一個多禮拜投了差不多35局，球數也不用記了，起碼快500球吧。有時候悲劇英雄更能被記一輩子。我永遠忘不了吃了若干包芝蘭口香糖之後，終於撕開包裝看到黃平洋球員卡的那份心情。陳義信的巔峰期正好躬逢兄弟象隊第一次的三連霸，有帶領球隊一路往前衝的霸氣王者風範，但黃平洋是那種不管球隊情況好與壞，沒關係有我在的那種感覺。
